Commemorating Earth Day, Raymond Y Tungka Commitment Don't Want To Throw Trash While Climbing Mountains

JAKARTA - Coinciding with World Earth Day which is celebrated every 22 April 2022, Raymond Y Tungka attended the launch of the Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) Report 2021 EIGER Adventure. In the event, the man who likes adventure is committed not to throw garbage while climbing the mountain.

According to him, humans should pay more attention to nature. He does not deny that there is still garbage in the mountains and of course this is very concerning, especially in the condition of the earth which is getting worse and worse.

"If you say there is still garbage or not, I don't dare to say yes, opinions fall. But I can say the fact that there are still many mountain clean-up activities, which means that they have not been cleaned properly," said Ramon Tungka.

Ramon stated that it never hurts to start from scratch and contribute to protecting nature for a better future. "But there is nothing wrong with us starting from scratch, to restore everything, to restore our thoughts and behavior while on the mountain. Choosing to live in nature, choosing to live as nature lovers, outside activities must be a responsibility," said Ramon.

Ramon's expectation is in line with PT Eigerindo Multi Produk Industri, the company that oversees the outdoor activity equipment provider brand from Indonesia, EIGER Adventure. This company provides environmentally friendly equipment.

"We are restless, the wealth and natural beauty that we currently enjoy, the mountains that we currently climb, in the future can no longer be enjoyed by future generations. In fact, as a brand that continues to invite people to explore, nature has always been our biggest inspiration in developing products and activities. That's where we feel we have a great responsibility for natural and environmental conditions," said Christian H. Sarsono, CEO of PT Eigerindo Multi Produk Industri.

He added that this concern was growing, driven by discussions and input from various parties, including through surveys to Eigerians (consumers), input from senior activists, communities, and consultants related to sustainability.

Harimula Muharam as General Manager of Product Research and Development of EIGER Adventure as well as Sustainability Project Leader explained that EIGER's concern for the environment has been carried out for the past few years, such as the Indonesian Planting Movement and Tree Adoption program which has been routinely implemented since 2012.

EIGER has developed a roadmap to carry out sustainability initiatives holistically, including planning, recording, and measuring in response to the company's operational impacts from raw materials, suppliers to consumers and the impact on the environment and society.
