JAKARTA - Mendua is the latest Disney+ Hotstar local series that will air this year. Not a few thought that this series followed the concept of the Korean drama The World of the Married.

Since being announced on Wednesday, April 6, Mendua has become a public conversation. Here are 5 facts about the Mendua series.

English Series Adaptation

Please note that the Mendua series and The World of the Married are official adaptations of the British series Doctor Foster. Broadcast on the BBC, the series has won a number of awards including the National Television Awards.

Dual is the seventh adaptation after France (Infidele), Russia (Скажи авду), India (Out of Love), South Korea (The World of the Married), Turkey (Sadakatsiz), and the Philippines (The Broken Marriage Vow).

Short Duration

The Mendua series has 8 episodes with a duration of 45 minutes. Of course, this is different from the Doctor Foster series and The World of the Married which have episodes of more than 10 and a duration of 50 minutes.

Senior Actor and Actress

Mendua will be played by three popular actors and actresses namely Adinia Wirasti, Chicco Jerikho, and Tatjana Saphira. All three have been poor across the film industry with their quality acting.

As for Mendua, Adinia Wirasti's newest series after Difficult Signal The Series in 2021 as well as Chicco Jerikho who last played Filosofi Kopi The Series. This is different from Tatjana Saphira who will act in a series for the first time.

Synopsis

Doctor Foster tells the story of a doctor who feels his household is falling apart after finding out his husband is having an affair. The story is also in keeping with The World of The Married, one of the series' successful adaptations.

Ji Sun Woo (Kim Hee Ae) is married to Lee Tae Oh (Park Hae Joon) and has a child. His perfect life didn't last so long when he realized that Lee Tae Oh was in a relationship with Yeo Da Kyung (Han So Hee).

Release Date

The Mendua series will premiere in 2022. This is the latest Disney+ Hotstar series after Wedding Agreement: The Series which is currently airing.
