Charithra Chandran Touched By Bollywood Song On Bridgerton 2

JAKARTA - Actress Charitha Chandran said Bridgerton 2 made her emotional. Not only the storyline, he is also proud of the soundtrack of the second season of this series from Netflix.

Bridgerton is known to present orchestral arrangements of modern songs as the soundtrack. For this second season, Bridgerton 2 chose the song Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham which is one of the Bollywood films in 2001.

The song Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham plays in an important scene in Bridgerton 2. When he heard it, Chandran said he was surprised and moved.

“For me, the film and the song (Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham) is an important element of Bollywood and all grew up with this song,” said Charithra Chandran at the Bridgerton 2 press conference on Monday, March 21.

“When that song played, I was like, “Wait a minute.” It makes me cry because it's a fusion of my two worlds."

Charithra Chandran is a British-born artist of Indian descent. As an immigrant, he felt proud of the song sung by Shah Rukh Khan.

“Growing up as an immigrant child, it's hard to know your identity and sometimes you don't know where you are. And that moment made me think “OK, I see, I can be both,” he said.

“Especially the song, it's a family song and it has a good meaning. The scene also represents me,” said the 25-year-old actress.

“What (Bridgerton) presents is a joy including representing various cultures and especially Asian culture. Presenting it through music and interesting scenes brought a smile to my face," said Simone Ashley.

Bridgerton 2 tells the story of two Sharma sisters: Kate (Simone Ashley) and Edwina (Charithra Chandran) who are involved in a love triangle over Anthony (Jonathan Bailey). Their story can be watched through the series Bridgerton 2 which airs on Friday, March 25 on Netflix.
