West Side Story Was Nominated But Rachel Zegler Didn't Get Invitation To Oscar 2022, Netizens Supported

JAKARTA - Actress Rachel Zegler revealed that she would not be attending the 2022 Oscars. Sunday, March 20, the West Side Story star uploaded several photos on Instagram. One fan wrote a comment that contained enthusiasm for the clothes Rachel Zegler would wear at the Oscars.

"I wasn't invited to be (wear) my boyfriend's sweatpants and flannels," Rachel Zegler replied.

Moments later, he explained that he had been trying to find tickets to attend the Oscars in person.

“I don't know, I've tried everything but it doesn't seem to be happening :') I'm going to support West Side Story from my couch and be proud of the work we did three years ago,” he said.

Zegler's response grew to rumors that the Oscars were not treating all the nominees fairly. Rachel Zegler is known is a Latin actress who became the main character in the film West Side Story.

Seeing the rumors spreading, Rachel Zegler wrote several tweets on her Twitter account. He said, “Oh my gosh!! I appreciate all the support."

“We live in an unprecedented situation and there is a lot of behind-the-scenes work that makes the film happen. This is for film productions (which I'm currently doing in London) and similar award events. Let's respect the process and I will stop playing with my cellphone," said Rachel Zegler.

"I hope there is a last minute miracle that happens and I can celebrate live but yes sometimes things like that happen."

Steven Spielberg's West Side Story competed for seven nominations including Best Picture and Best Director. On the other hand, Rachel Zegler was in London filming the Disney film Snow White.
