Through The Song Of Addiction, Sweet The Band Criticizes Trends In Diagnosing Mentally Sick Self

JAKARTA - Music group from Bandung, Sweet The Band, recently released their first single with the title "Adiction" which criticizes the phenomenon of self-diagnosis or self-diagnosing with a mental health disorder that is currently rife among teenagers.

Through this song, the group consisting of Jeremy Juiloardo, Juan Mikha Prasetiyo, Kevin Jonathan, and Ezra Abraham expressed their anxiety about this phenomenon. According to them, social media makes many teenagers feel proud if they have mental illness.

"'Addiction' itself is actually like anxiety, it can also be our amusement. Right now, especially on social media, many people feel proud to have a mental disorder. In this song, we raise that theme," said Jeremy quoted from ANTARA, Thursday, March 17. .

"However, we also fully submit to the public if there is a different representation of this song," he added.

Later, Sweet The Band plans to develop the theme and will release four more singles. The songs will then be compiled in the form of a mini album.

“We want to continue to develop music themes and explorations. One of the main targets going forward is to want to record four more songs which will then be made into an EP," they said.

Currently, the song "Adiction" from Sweet The Band can be listened to through various digital music platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, Joox and Resso.
