Squid Game Wins 2 Awards At Critics Choice, Lee Jung Jae Runs Out Of Words

JAKARTA - The South Korean series, Squid Game won two awards at the Critics Choice held on Sunday, March 13.

The three main characters of Squid Game: Lee Jung Jae, Jung Ho Yeon, and Park Hae Soo attended the Critics Choice event held in Los Angeles.

Lee Jung Jae won Best Actor in a Drama Series beating a number of actors such as Brian Cox and Jeremy Strong.

“I am so grateful that I am speechless. I thank Netflix and Squid Game,” said Lee Jung Jae in his speech.

In addition, Squid Game also won Best Foreign Language Series beating a series of other Netflix series, including Money Heist and Lupine.

Previously, Lee Jung Jae became the first Korean actor to receive an award at the SAG Awards. Actress Jung Ho Yeon also received the Outstanding Performance By A Female Actor In A Drama Series award.

Squid Game's victories in a number of awards are in line with the popularity they have achieved since the series was released in 2021.

Squid Game tells the story of 456 participants who take part in a game to win 456 billion won. But on the other hand, their lives are at stake in the competition.

Meanwhile, the Netflix CEO and director confirmed Squid Game is back with a second season.
