JAKARTA - The Overtunes band will release their newest song entitled Write Me Another Song. This song became their work after releasing the album Memory Lane in 2019 as well as marking their journey as an independent artist.

Write Me Another Song doesn't sound much different from the previous works of The Overtunes. The reason is, the work on this song is still being handled by the Madam Emmanuelle, Reuben Nathaniel, and Mikha Angelo brothers.

In the first minute, you can hear the birds chirping and the breeze but towards the next minute, the harmonization of the three brothers sounds clear and crisp.

“We had time to record this both outdoor and indoor. We just recorded a few weeks ago, the last stages before we submit the song. In the second part, we've just done it," said Mada Emmanuelle as bass and vocals.

Even though it's not difficult, they said that the writing of Write Me Another Song took quite a long time from mid to late December 2021.

“At first, the label was working on it for dozens, but now it's only three of them with the manager. We have to think for ourselves. Challenging, but in terms of making music, I have been used to it since I was under the label,” explained Mikha Angelo on vocals and guitar.

In terms of lyrics, Write Me Another Song is an expression of the anxiety of a Reuben after not writing a song for a long time.

"Because I've been bored for a long time and haven't written songs, I thought, 'Actually, can I still not write songs?'" said Reuben, who also went solo by releasing his first song in 2021.

Write Me Another Song is even more special because the artwork is made by their own sister. This project feels increasingly exploring a new side but does not distance The Overtunes' musical identity from fans.

The song Write Me Another Song from The Overtunes can be heard digitally starting today, Thursday, January 27.
