JAKARTA - Progressive metal giant, Dream Theater has released a music video for the song Transcending Time taken from their latest album, A View From The Top Of The World.
Transcending Time is the fourth video released from the band's 15th studio album, which has held three concerts in Indonesia and is a CGI creation by longtime collaborator Wayne Joyner.
This song has been a fan favorite since the album's release and is the shortest of the songs at 6:24.
Meanwhile, last November, Dream Theater was announced as one of the nominees for Best Metal Performance at the 64th Grammy Awards. The climax event will be held on April 3, 2022 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The legends were nominated for their song The Alien, the first single from A View From The Top Of The World, which came out in October.
Guitarist John Petrucci discusses the band's latest Grammy nominations during an appearance on the "No Fuckin' Regrets With Robb Flynn" podcast from Machine Head frontman Robb Flynn.
"When we got our first (Grammy) nomination, the Foo Fighters were there. And they won it. I remember Dave Grohl saying something like, 'Oh, they should get this,' which I thought was great. But this time, I don't know if I will remember all (the other artists who were nominated), but I think it was Gojira and Mastodon (who we played against), and it was a cool list," said Petrucci.
"I remember there were a few years where I was surprised by the nominations — it seemed a bit odd — but right now it seemed right. So we'll see. It's fun. Being nominated is an honor. It's cool. Doing what we do and being recognized in that world. is something I never expected. And now for us, it's the third (nomination), so it's cool."
Dream Thetaer's previous Grammy nominations were for the song On The Backs Of Angels, from the album A Dramatic Turn Of Events, and the single The Enemy Inside from their self-titled 2013 album.
