JAKARTA - Ex-BIGBANG's Seungri has been reduced to 18 months from three years in prison.

Thursday, 27 years old, Seungri is facing nine charges, ranging from violations of food sanitation, embezzlement, sexual crimes, gambling, foreign exchange transactions, prostitution, to prostitution services.

At today's trial, Seungri was sentenced to one year and six months in prison, which was reduced from the first sentence of three years in prison and a fine of one billion Won.

Previously, Seungri denied eight of the nine charges except foreign exchange transactions. But then he admits the whole mistake and mentions his regret. He also hopes to be able to reflect on himself from his actions.

Seungri, who has served five months in prison, is said to be able to be released immediately if the verdict is finalized. This reduced sentence was made because Seungri pleaded guilty and reflected on his actions.

Previously, Seungri's name began to be dragged when the Burning Sun scandal emerged in 2019. This scandal was related to rape and secretly filmed.

Besides Seungri, several names such as Jung Joon Young, CNBLUE's Jong Hyun, and Highlight's Junhyung were also involved.
