Light Copying Team Removes Crew Names Of Suspected Sexual Harassment Perpetrators

JAKARTA - Rekata Studio and Kaninga Pictures, the production team of Copy Light released a statement on Monday, January 10.

They said they had removed the name of a crew member from the list of credits for the film Copy Light. This is because the crew is suspected of sexual harassment in the past.

"We found that a name from the copy of Cahaya film team was recorded as the reported person for his alleged past actions," wrote Rekata Studio and Kaninga Pictures on Monday, January 10.

They decided to remain committed to the reporting process and removed the crew's name from all publications and film credits for The Light Copyers.

The shooting process which was carried out for 20 days went safely but apart from that, they still took cases of sexual harassment seriously.

"We hope that the processes that occur after this report will run by accommodating the interests of the survivors and can be completed according to this path," said the two production teams.

The Light Copyer, directed by Wregas Bhanuteja, tells of Suryani (Shenina Cinnamon) who searches for the truth after her drunken photo circulates on the internet. Sur also lost his scholarship because of this incident.

Not remembering anything, Sur asks for help from Amin (Chicco Kurniawan), a photocopier who works on campus. Both are determined to find the mastermind as well as find out what happened that night.

The Light Copyer is slated to hit Netflix on January 13, 2022.
