Synopsis Of Makmum 2 And Backstage, Shows In Cinemas Today To Close 2021

JAKARTA- Two years of waiting, Titi Kamal admitted that she was happy that Makmum 2 was showing in theaters starting today, Thursday, December 30. This film will be coupled with the film Backstage, starring Sissy Prescillia and Vanesha Prescilla.

"Finally, the film Makmum 2 is showing in theaters. Honestly, I was really looking forward to this film because it was filmed at the beginning of the pandemic. And it's only being released now so I'm very enthusiastic," said Titi Kamal during a press conference at Epicentrum XXI, South Jakarta, Thursday, December 23 .

This film is expected to convince the public to return to watching Indonesian films in theaters. After almost a year of opening and closing, cinemas are more flexible to watch. Producer Dheeraj Kalwani admitted Makmum 2 will be broadcast on 245 screens in Indonesia on the first day.

"For those who miss watching horror films, hopefully Makmum 2 can make the audience return to the cinema. Hopefully Indonesian films will be crowded with viewers again with Makmum 2," hopes Director Guntur Soeharjanto.

Makmum 2 tells the life of Rini who already has a son. Just now her husband died, Rini's sorrow grew when the bude who raised her died. While returning home to mourn, Rini's only child, Hafis, disappeared and was found unconscious in the middle of the forest.

Fighting alone to save the only family left. At that time, Rini was again disturbed by a supernatural figure resembling Makmum, which made her faith waver and put her child in a dangerous condition.

Meanwhile, Backstager is a drama genre that tells the story of Elsa Anindita (Vanesha Prescilla) and Sandra Anandara (Sissy Prescillia), brothers who support each other. One day, Elsa gets an offer to become a singer but her voice is filled by Sandra.

The Backstage film was also directed by Guntur Soeharjanto. This film is interesting because it brings together two actresses who are also family in the real world.

“The Backstage story is interesting. I've never made a film with a song on it. Then meet the cast of Sissy and Sasa (Vanesha Prescilla's nickname). I used to meet Sissy in 2005 and her performance was really good,” said Guntur.
