JAKARTA – Laura Anna's ashes have been dumped into the sea by her family today, Friday, December 17. The family immediately mourned after completing the cremation process the day before.

Some of the symbols associated with floating the ashes after cremation include releasing loved ones, releasing sadness, liberation, depicting a free personality, freeing the soul of a loved one, connection with a certain place, ushering in a circle of life that is believed to be the process of reincarnation.

Each party or family can find and create meaning from laying the ashes. In an article published in the Wall Street Journal, for example, a woman named Michelle Paris scatters her husband's ashes on a windy Southern California beach. Paris interprets it as the last goodbye kiss from her husband.

After the cremation process, the ashes of a loved one are thrown into the mountains or in the middle of the sea, a family doesn't just want to say one thing. Not only releasing but creating a special memory. They return to Earth, and the family celebrates their freedom. This is more than fulfilling the wishes of a loved one, but also expressing and processing grief.
