Bu Tejo Comes Again In View Serial Version, What's It Like?

JAKARTA - The short film Tilik, directed by Wahyu Agung Prasetyo, will be developed in a serial format by the streaming service WeTV Indonesia. The film, which was viral in 2020, was widely discussed on the internet and became the subject of discussion.

Tilik is a Javanese short film with a duration of 30 minutes. As the title implies, Tilik tells the story of a group of women from the village who go to the city to visit the village head who is sick.

Bu Tejo (Siti Fauziah) leads the discussion all the way to the city by truck. They talked a lot about what was going on in the village, including the gossip that was circulating.

To date, the short film has been watched more than 26 million times on Ravacana Films' YouTube channel. The figure of Bu Tejo also became iconic in the audience where Bu Tejo wore a hijab and golden brooch.

A year has passed, the Tilik series will be made in serial format and broadcast on WeTV. Lesley Simpson as Country Head of WeTV and iflix Indonesia announced this news.

“Thus, the stories and works of Indonesian filmmakers can go worldwide through WeTV. Like Tilik, a short film that was phenomenal and became the talk of the town for some time. Through WeTV, Tilik will become a global public spectacle,” said Lesley Simpson.

Tilik is one of WeTV Indonesia's newest content line ups which will be released next year. Siti Fauziah, Brilliana Desy, and Angeline Rizky are the three main characters for the Tilik series.

The Tilik series will air in 2022 on WeTV.
