Family Drama, Ernest Prakasa Working On Teka Teki Tika With Different Messages

JAKARTA - Director Ernest Prakasa returns to the big screen after two years. His latest film, Teka Teki Tika marks his comeback.

Teka Teki Tika tells of the harmonious family of Budiman (Ferry Salim). One night, he celebrates his wedding anniversary with Sherly (Jenny Zhang).

The beautiful atmosphere turned into a disaster when a woman named Tika (Sheila Dara) came to the house. Tika admits that Budiman is the father she wants to meet. Various mysteries were revealed and threatened Budiman's family.

Friday, December 3rd, the first trailer for Teka Teki Tika was released. This one-minute video shows the figure of Tika who knows the life of the Budiman family.

Feeling threatened, Budiman and Sherly agreed to get rid of Tika. Will their efforts be successful? Or is it the other way around?

Ernest claims this film takes a different side of drama from the previous filmography. He was also inspired by the phenomenon of corruption in Indonesia.

"Although the message was only available to friends when it was in theaters, the message started from I feel that Indonesians are too forgiving of corrupt people," said Ernest Prakasa in Central Jakarta on Friday, December 3.

This film was made in the midst of a pandemic where for the past two years Ernest has not worked on any films.

“I have a habit when I write, I try to avoid genre films. I'm afraid that something is accidentally absorbed in a scene," explained Ernest.

Here, Ernest appointed Sheila Dara as the driver of this film. Without casting, Sheila was enthusiastic because Teka Teki Tika became a reunion with Ernest Prakasa.

“I see that Sheila has a fairly dynamic range from drama to comedy. To be honest, Tika's role didn't go through casting," said Ernest.

"Yes, of course, I was invited by Ernest, but I didn't refuse," answered Sheila Dara.

The Teka Teki Tika film will premiere in Indonesian cinemas starting December 23. Watch the trailer below:
