JAKARTA - Netflix's newest original series, Hellbound, officially ranks first for viewing this week. According to Netflix's official Top 10 website, Hellbound has been watched 43 million hours since streaming on November 19.

Within three days, the series stole the attention of international audiences. Of course, this achievement follows Squid Game (30 million), Arcane (38 million) and Tiger King 2 (30 million).

Hellbound is also widely discussed in China where Netflix service is not available there. At least, the pirated version of this series has been downloaded as many as 130 million as of Tuesday, November 23.

Hellbound is a drama in which people listen to predictions of when they will die. When the time comes, one will be publicly punished by angels.

Jung Jin Soo (Yoo Ah In) is the religious leader of Saejinrihwe. He loved to tell stories about God's presence when the angel of death came from hell.

Jung Jin Soo's presence becomes a source of search for Bae Young Jae (Park Jung Min), a producer who is looking for Saejinrihwe's origins.

Hellbound is directed by Yeon Sang Ho, director of Train to Busan and Peninsula. Here he also helped develop the script of the webtoon he made with Choi Kyu Seok. "The Hellbound world is a place that shows the various people in this world," he said, launching Soompi.

Currently, all episodes of the Hellbound series can be watched exclusively on Netflix.
