Praise The Light Copier, Japanese Actor Shogen Wants To Play In A Film In Indonesia

JAKARTA - Japanese actor, Shogen has been trying to expand his wings outside Japan, reaching into the Southeast Asian film industry. He admitted that he was enthusiastic about collaborating with Indonesian filmmakers after watching Copy of Cahaya.

"Edwin (director of 'Like Dendam, Rindu Must be Paid Completely') is an Indonesian director, right? I also met an interesting director, Wregas (Bhanuteja), he came to the 2021 Busan Film Festival and I liked his film, 'Photocopier' (Penalin Cahaya), " said Shogen as quoted from ANTARA, Monday, November 8.

The Film Copying Light (international title: Photocopier) premiered and entered the main competition program New Currents at the 2021 Busan International Film Festival. Director Wregas Bhanuteja and actress Shenina Cinnamon attended the festival in person. At the same festival, the film "Gensan Punch" which will be broadcast on HBO Asia Original brought home the prestigious Kim Jiseok Award.

Shogen had already seen the film "Light Copyer" in South Korea. He praised director Wregas for making a film he enjoyed so much.

"He's still young, but I really enjoyed the film. Hopefully we can work together in the future, say hello from me if you meet Wregas," said Shogen.

Copying Cahaya is one of the films that won the 2021 Indonesian Film Festival Citra Cup nominations with a total of 17 nominations.

The film copying Cahaya, produced by Rekata Studio and Kaninga Pictures, tells the story of Sur (Shenina Cinnamon) who has to lose her scholarship due to being deemed to have defamed the faculty after her drunk selfies were circulated. He doesn't remember anything that happened to him when he attended the theater community's victory party at his college.

During the party, Sur is unconscious. He then asks Amin (Chicco Kurniawan), his childhood friend who is also a photocopier who lives and works on campus, to find out what really happened to him on the night of the party.
