JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemenkes) together with Jhpiego Indonesia, Roche Diagnostics Indonesia, and Bio Farma officially presented the results of the Cervical Cancer Screening Pilot Project with a hub-and-spoke model in East Java. This project, which runs from November 2024 to November 2025, is an important milestone in strengthening the early detection system of cancer in Indonesia.

This National Dissemination Activity was attended by the Deputy Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, Prof. dr. Dante Saksono Harbuwono, and the Director of Non-Communicable Diseases, dr. Siti Nadia Tarmizi. The hub-and-spoke model which was tested in Surabaya and Sidoarjo managed to integrate large laboratories in urban areas (hub) with primary health facilities in rural areas (spoke), proving to significantly increase screening accessibility.

"This implementation study provides important evidence on how HPV DNA screening can be integrated into primary health services in line with the Primary Service Integration (ILP) policy. This learning will be a reference in improving policies and expanding programs nationally," said dr.
