JAKARTA - Ambeien is an swelling or inflammation that occurs in blood vessels at the ends of the large intestine (rectum) and anus. This condition can occur due to an increase in blood vessel pressure around the anus.

In general, ambeien is asymptomatic and can improve in a matter of days. However, in severe conditions, ambeien can cause pain, itching, and bleeding.

Ambeien External

External Ambeien is an ambeien characterized by a blood vessel swollen outside the anus, so it can be seen from the outside. Symptoms that can appear in external ambeieen are itching or irritation, and swelling around the anus.

Another symptom that appears in this type of ambeien is pain when it touches a lump hanging outside the anus, causing bleeding during bowel movements or bloody defecations.

Internal Ambeien

Another type of ambeien is internal ambeien, which occurs when the swelling of the blood vessels is inside the anus. Thus, the ambeien is invisible or felt from outside.

Symptoms found in this type of ambeien are bleeding when defecating, without pain. Another symptom is pain when straining, especially if amebeien causes lumps that come out of the anus (prolapse).

Ambeien generally recovers by itself in a few days, also using oles. However, you have to go to a doctor if the symptoms of the ambeien above do not heal for 7 days.

Also go to the doctor if the complaint of ambeien is accompanied by conditions such as change in color and consistency in feces, changes in the pattern of bowel movements, severe bleeding, dizziness, and fainting.
