Clarification Of Caroline Riady, CEO Of Siloam Hospitals Who Went Viral Allegedly Going Home To Work By Helicopter

JAKARTA - Not long ago, a viral video circulated on social media showing a woman riding a helicopter after working from a top building. Based on a search by netizens, the woman figure is Siloam Hospitals CEO Caroline Riady.

From the video circulating, Caroline Riady was initially recorded coming home from work and was picked up by a helicopter in a viral video uploaded by netizens via the TikTok account @bayubeha on Monday, February 3, 2025. In the video, a helicopter appears to land on the helipad of a building roof. Two women and men then got into the helicopter which soon took off.

"Jakarta's view is noon from an altitude," Bayu wrote in a video that is now viral and airs up to 4.6 million times as of Thursday, February 13, 2025.

After the video was widely discussed, the VOI team met with figure Caroline Riady at the MRCC Run For Hope event in Senayan, Jakarta, recently. Met after participating in the running activity, Caroline Riady explained about the video.

"Yes, that's me," he admitted.

After that he said the distance between his house and office was very close. So it's impossible to take a helicopter every day.

"What is certain is that my house is only five minutes from the office. It is impossible to ride the PP helicopter (going back and forth). It is impossible," answered Caroline Riady.

He further explained that the function of available helicopters is often used for the benefit of patients.

"But there are, for example, patients who are in emergency conditions. It is necessary to move them to other cities. Or from other cities, they are swabbed here (Jakarta). Either abroad, or from abroad, we bring them back. Unfortunately, those are not videoed," he said.

Caroline Riady is the CEO and Vice President Director of Siloam Hospitals Group, Lippo Group's private hospital network. Caroline is the grandson of Lippo Group founder Mochtar Riady, as well as the eldest daughter of Lippo Group's current CEO, James Riady andLAY Hambali.

She started her education career as a teacher at Lincoln Elementary School District 200, US Illinois, Pelita Harapan school and University, as well as Teachers College in Tangerang.

Caroline then served as CEO of Siloam Hospitals Kebun Jeruk in 2010.
