PLN Records The Highest Peak Load Of Electricity In Java-Bali

JAKARTA - PT PLN (Persero) recorded the highest peak electricity load, which occurred on Thursday, October 14 at 19.00 WIB. The peak load was recorded at 28,093 MW.

General Manager of PLN UID East Java, Adi Priyanto, said the condition was better than the highest peak load throughout 2019 which was 27,973 MW, and for the peak afternoon load throughout 2021 the highest occurred on Wednesday, October 13, which was recorded at 27,740 MW.

"In the midst of a pandemic, PLN is trying hard to take part in restoring the economy, through the use of electricity that can be used by the community to increase cost efficiency," Adi said, quoted by Antara, Sunday, October 24.

The high peak load indicates rising electricity consumption, and proves that the economic recovery has been felt.

"Industrial activity and the economy have recovered. It is hoped that this condition will continue to improve and will achieve positive national economic growth," he said.

Sales of electricity in East Java until September 2021 reached 29.166 GWh, up 4.1 percent compared to the previous year.

In September 2021 the industrial sector also grew 9.02 percent, the business sector grew 1.28 percent compared to July 2021, while the household sector experienced an increase with 1.01 percent growth.

"The key to the increase in electricity consumption is that we encourage various sectors that survive and even grow in the midst of a pandemic such as Pharmacy, Consumer Goods, Food & Beverages. PLN has also expanded its Electrifying Agriculture program, Aquaculture with 3,249 potential customers, dieselization with 1,128 potential customers, and acquisition of captive power "Adi explained.

PLN intensifies the Electrifying Lifestyle by building an EV community (PLN, partners & the community), building a community of induction cookers, implementing the Bank's MOU on MSMEs/IKM, and activating various convenience programs.

"The PLN program is also in great demand by the people of East Java, as of October 21, 20201 the Super Strikes power add promo which attracted 12,251 customers and the internet bundling promo program, Electrinet Lifestyle as many as 177 customers," he said.
