Jokowi Has Signed The Merger, Holding Food SOEs Ready To Export Rice To Saudi Arabia

JAKARTA - PT Rajawali Nusantara Indonesia (Persero) or RNI as the parent of the Food State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) said that the formation of food clusters is almost complete. In fact, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has signed the merger process. The plan is, after the Food SOE is formed, it will export rice to Saudi Arabia.

Later, there will be two SOEs that will be merged into one, namely Perum Perikanan Indonesia or Perindo and PT Perikanan Nusantara (Persero) or Perinus. Perindo changed its status to a company and Perinus was merged into Perindo.

"The company process from Perindo has been completed, then I heard that the merger has also been signed by the President, then inbreng is being harmonized", said PT RNI President Director Arief Prasetyo Adi, quoted from RNI Holding's YouTube account, Friday, September 17.

Furthermore, Arief said the Food Cluster BUMN Holding would focus on improving the domestic food ecosystem. RNI as the head of the food cluster will fix the cost structure to generate competitive value in the domestic food market.

"We don't want to sell at a loss, we also repair the ecosystem, we fix the cost structure so that we have a better competitive value than before", he said.

Food SOEs will export two containers of rice to Saudi Arabia

Arief said the national food company would export two containers of rice to Saudi Arabia. The rice will be sent by PT Sang Hyang Seri (Persero) to a Saudi Arabian company, namely Al Batlah.

Furthermore, Arief said the rice to be exported was premium rice. But unfortunately, Arief did not mention how much the export value was.

For your information, this rice export plan is part of the transformation of the food SOEs. In that transformation, the Ministry of SOEs formed a food SOE holding. This holding is fronted by RNI as the parent. Meanwhile, Sang Hyang Seri is one of the seven holding members.

"There was an order to export rice to Saudi Arabia for 2 containers from Sang Hyang Seri, which was not there before", he said.

Not only rice, but Arief said there are also plans to export tissue to fish from BUMN products. Especially for fish, said Arief, the plan to export as many as six containers.

"We do everything. Export octopus, plate glassfish, yellowfin. It turns out that we can do it", he said.

For your information, the food cluster BUMN holding consists of 9 BUMN namely PT RNI (Persero), PT PPI (Persero), PT Perikanan Indonesia, PT Perikanan Nusantara (Persero), and PT Garam (Persero). Then there are PT Pertani (Persero), PT BGR Logistics (Persero), PT Berdikari (Persero), and PT Sang Hyang Seri (Persero). The total assets are worth IDR 28 trillion.
