"Cashless gives buyers a sense of security, transactions are more effective, there is no need to bring a wallet to the market. In the midst of a pandemic, if you can reduce payments in cash," he said.

The non-cash service using QRIS is already available in 44 traditional markets in Solo City.

On the same occasion, Head of Bank Indonesia (BI) Surakarta Representative Office Nugroho Joko Prastowo said BI fully supports SGS as a vehicle to regenerate economic recovery during the pandemic after implementing PPKM.

"We invite financial service providers to carry out education, socialization, and acceleration. We hope that this contribution can encourage SGS ," he said.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the Surakarta Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) Gareng S Haryanto said the use of the digital economy in the implementation of SGS was a priority.
