JAKARTA - PT Multicrane Perkasa (MCP) together with Ammann and Sumitomo held the MCP East Java Construction Forum 2026 in Surabaya, Wednesday, August 5. This forum is a discussion room between the government and the construction industry players to discuss the implementation of the policy on the use of Processed Bitumen Asphalt (Asbuton) and the utilization of road construction technology.

MCP President Director Adrianus Hadiwinata said road construction cannot rely solely on regulations or technology.

"The construction of quality roads is not enough with policies or technology alone. It takes close collaboration so that implementation in the field runs optimally," he said in Jakarta, Thursday, August 6.

The forum entitled Driving the Future of Road Construction Through Policy & Innovation was attended by around 70 participants from the Ministry of Public Works, National Road Implementation Agency (BBPJN), contractors, consultants, associations, to construction industry players.

The main discussion is directed at the implementation of the Minister of Public Works Regulation Number 10 of 2026 which encourages the use of Asbuton as part of the policy of increasing the utilization of domestic materials.

Director of Business and Institutional Services for Construction Services at the Ministry of PU, Airyn Saputri Harahap, explained the government's policy direction regarding the use of domestic materials in infrastructure development. Meanwhile, BBPJN East Java-Bali highlighted the prospects for the development of national roads and the technical challenges faced in their implementation.

In addition to discussing regulatory aspects, the forum also featured road construction technology developed by Sumitomo and Ammann. Sumitomo introduced the Asphalt Paver HA90C-3 with a spreading capacity of up to 9 meters, while Ammann showcased the ABC120 EcoTec Asphalt Mixing Plant which supports the use of Asphalt and asphalt recycling technology.

MCP also explained road construction solutions which include the stages of asphalt mixture production, spreading, and compaction through the Ammann ARX 91 Tandem Roller and ARS 110.2 Soil Compactor units.
