AFPI Chairman and Former AFPI Executive Director Summoned to the DKI Jakarta High Prosecutor's Office

JAKARTA - The General Chair of the Indonesian Funding Fintech Association (AFPI) for the period 2023 - 2026, Entjik S. Djafar and former Executive Director of AFPI for the period 2019-2013, Kuseryansyah, met the call of the DKI Jakarta High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) on Friday, July 31, 2026 to undergo an examination.

The two were seen in the DKI Jakarta Attorney General's Office and were examined for approximately 5 hours. However, both Entjik and Kuseryansyah, refused to comment on his presence at the prosecutor's office to reporters.

Confirming this, AFPI said that Entjik and Kuseryansyah were present to meet the request of the prosecutor's office.

"AFPI respects the legal process carried out by the prosecutor's office and will be cooperative if there is information or information needed," AFPI explained to reporters, quoted Thursday, August 6.

However, the Association admitted that it could not convey the material or substance of the examination further because it was the authority of the prosecutor's office.

In response to this, the Financial Services Authority (OJK), as the institution that oversees the financial services industry, including online loans (pindar), admitted that it had not received any reports regarding this from the two leaders of AFPI both before the examination took place and after the completion of the examination by the DKI Jakarta Prosecutor's Office.

Deputy Commissioner for Supervision of Financing Institutions, Venture Capital Companies, Micro Finance Institutions, and Other Financial Services Institutions (PMVL) of the OJK, Jasmi, when confirmed, said he had not received updates from each party regarding the summons by the DKI Jakarta Prosecutor's Office.

It is strongly suspected that the examination conducted on Entjik and Kuseryansyah is related to the Attorney General's continued examination of the case of one of the online lending platforms (pindar), Koinworks. Considering that in the last five years, the online lending industry has been facing public scrutiny over various legal problems involving its members and the latest case currently being handled by the Attorney General's Office is the alleged distribution of fictitious credit at Koinworks which resulted in state losses of up to IDR 600 billion.

In this case, investigators suspect that there has been manipulation of collateral in the form of invoices and disbursement of financing without insurance protection, which has caused potential losses of up to hundreds of billions. A number of parties have also been named as suspects.

A similar case also occurred on the Crowde platform in the period 2023 to 2024. The Prosecutor's Office suspects that fictitious loans were distributed to 62 lenders worth Rp. 12 billion. The main director of Crowde, Yohanes Sugihtonugroho, has been named a suspect in the case.

In the midst of massive investigations by law enforcement, it is interesting that Kuseryansyah's name is rumored to have emerged as one of the candidates for chairman of the AFPI. However, in response to this, Kuseryansyah is not yet willing to provide further comment.

"I don't know (the nomination for chairman of AFPI), it's still a long time in October," he concluded when met at the DKI Jakarta Attorney General's Office.

Kuseryansyah is not a new figure in AFPI. He previously served as Executive Director of AFPI in the period 2019 to the end of 2023, then became Chairman of AFPI Harian during the leadership of Adrian Gunadi for the period 2020-2023. Adrian Gunadi, who was previously Kuseryansyah's immediate superior at AFPI, was arrested and detained by the National Police Criminal Investigation Unit after having been an Interpol fugitive in Qatar regarding the case of illegally collecting public funds from January 2022 to March 2024 which resulted in public losses of IDR 2.7 trillion.

Kuseryansyah's position as Executive Director and Chairman of the Board at AFPI has come under the spotlight in relation to the many legal problems involving its members, including KoinWorks, Crowde and Investree, all of which occurred during the leadership of Kuseryansyah and Adrian Gunadi at AFPI in the period 2019 to the end of 2023.
