JAKARTA - PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI strengthens its support for Indonesian students who will continue their education in Hong Kong through collaboration with the Indonesian Student Association in Hong Kong or PPI-HK.
The support was realized through the holding of the 2026 PPI Hong Kong Pre-Departure Gathering at the BNI Pejompongan Tower Ballroom, Jakarta, Saturday (1/8/2026). This activity was attended by more than 400 prospective students, parents, mentors, and PPI Hong Kong managers.
BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo said that improving the quality of human resources is one of the important factors in strengthening Indonesia's competitiveness at the global level. Therefore, the company continues to build collaboration to support the readiness of young generations who will study abroad.
"BNI believes that the younger generation of Indonesians has great potential to compete in the international arena. Through collaboration with PPI Hong Kong, we want to be a partner who accompanies them from the preparation of departure to living life as students abroad," said Okki in a written statement.
During the activity, participants received briefings on academic and daily life in Hong Kong. Prospective students also had the opportunity to share experiences with senior students and build networks before departure.
The briefing is expected to help students understand the new environment, prepare for study needs, and adapt to life abroad.
BNI and PPI Hong Kong's collaboration was previously carried out through the PPI Hong Kong Member Co-Branding Multi-Currency Debit Card affiliation program. The program is aimed at providing transaction convenience and expanding access to financial services for students and Indonesian diaspora in Hong Kong.
According to Okki, easy access to financial services is an important part of supporting the mobility of Indonesian people at the global level.
"As a national bank that continues to expand its international service capabilities, BNI believes that easy access to finance is an important part of supporting the global mobility of the Indonesian people," said Okki.
Support for Indonesian students abroad is also part of BNI's commitment to provide relevant financial solutions while building relationships with the Indonesian diaspora.
This commitment is in line with the direction of transformation of SOEs under the coordination of Danantara Indonesia which emphasizes the creation of added value and benefits for the community and the country.
Through collaboration with the Hong Kong PPI and other stakeholders, BNI is working to support the readiness of Indonesian students to face the global education environment while strengthening the development of superior and competitive human resources. (ADV)
