JAKARTA - Acting Governor of Bank Indonesia Destry Damayanti asked market participants not to overreact after Perry Warjiyo's resignation. BI ensures that interventions in the financial market will continue to be carried out to maintain the stability of the rupiah.

"We hope the market does not need to panic," Destry said at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, Monday, July 27.

According to Destry, BI will continue to carry out all stabilization instruments that have been implemented so far.

Interventions will be carried out in the spot market, Domestic Non Deliverable Forward (DNDF), and Non Deliverable Forward (NDF).

On the other hand, BI continues to pursue macroprudential policies to support economic growth.

Destry said the results of the July 2026 RDG would also continue to be implemented, including incentives through a reduction in hedging costs to maintain foreign capital inflows.

He emphasized that the change of leadership did not change the direction of the central bank's policy.

"We are still implementing that policy," he said.

Destry added that all members of the BI Board of Governors continued to work collectively so that operations and policymaking continued.

BI hopes that the stability of the financial market can soon return to normal.
