JAKARTA - The government provides a 0 percent import duty incentive for the import of aircraft parts, as well as Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) which is the raw material for the petrochemical industry.
The incentive is part of the Semester II Economic Stimulus Package in 2026.
Spokesperson for the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs Haryo Limanseto said that with lower costs, business actors are expected to maintain their business activities, increase efficiency, and remain competitive.
"This policy is part of the Government's efforts to maintain the momentum of economic growth through strengthening the real sector," said Haryo in a statement in Jakarta, Saturday.
For the MRO industry, the 0 percent import tariff applies to the import of goods and materials used in the aircraft maintenance and repair process. Through this incentive, the company's operating costs can be suppressed so that aircraft maintenance services in the country become more competitive.
In addition, the 0 percent import tariff on LPG imports is expected to help the petrochemical industry produce raw materials at a more efficient cost. In the end, the benefits can also be felt by various other industries that use petrochemicals as raw materials.
The policy is regulated in PMK Number 50 of 2026 concerning the Third Amendment to PMK Number 26/PMK.010/2022. This PMK was established on July 15, 2026 and came into force 7 days after it was promulgated.
Specifically for the import of LPG as raw materials for the petrochemical industry, the 0 percent import tariff is valid for six months through tariff posts 9845.10.00 and 9845.20.00.
The provisions for the implementation of the Import Duty facility for the MRO industry are further regulated in the Minister of Industry Regulation (Permenperin) Number 16 of 2026. This Permenperin regulates the criteria and procedures for the utilization of fiscal incentives in the form of reduced import tariffs granted to Aircraft Repair and Maintenance Industrial Service Companies that import goods and/or materials specifically used for Aircraft Repair and Maintenance Industrial Service activities.
The criteria for petrochemical industry companies that can utilize the special scheme for the import of LPG as raw materials are regulated in the Decree of the Minister of Industry Number 1944 of 2026. The import of LPG with HS codes 2711.12.00 and 2711.13.00 by companies that meet the criteria will obtain a 0% import duty facility through tariff posts 9845.10.00 and 9845.20.00.
