JAKARTA - The Danantara Investment Management Agency (BPI) is studying the issuance of bonds with a term of more than 10 years after the previous bond offering received a positive response from investors.

Head of BPI Danantara Rosan Roeslani said the issuance of five- and 10-year forward bonds was sought by more than 120 companies.

"The response was very positive. More than 120 companies," said Rosan at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, Thursday, July 23.

Danantara previously held promotions for investors in Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, Boston, New York, and London.

According to Rosan, the investor's interest made the interest rate or bond coupon at 5.35 percent.

"That's why our rate at that time was 5.35 percent," he said.

Rosan ensured that the development plan for the Indonesia International Financial Center would not interfere with the sale of Danantara bonds.

He said Danantara is now studying the opportunity to issue debt with a tenor longer than 10 years. However, Rosan has not mentioned the issuance time, bond value, or the currency to be used.

Danantara also got a role as a developer of an international financial center area that will be built in Bali.

During the two to three years of preparation, the financial center was first run from Jakarta using the Danareksa Building.

The government is still preparing the management structure, including the head of the area and the governor of the financial center who will be appointed by President Prabowo Subianto.
