JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) through the Jabodebek LRT invites children with disabilities to get acquainted with public transportation in order to commemorate National Children's Day 2026.

This activity is part of an effort to provide education and ensure that all children have the same opportunity to enjoy public transportation services.

The theme carried is Love Children, Protect and Build the Future. A total of 50 students and accompanying staff from SLB Negeri 11 Jakarta, SLB Negeri 3 Jakarta, SLB B Pangudi Luhur School, and SLB Santi Rama Fatmawati Jakarta took the journey using the Jabodebek LRT from Halim Station to Jatimulya Station, Thursday, July 23.

During the trip, participants were introduced to how to use the Jabodebek LRT, various service facilities, and safety education. The activity was also filled with dental health counseling by a pediatric specialist dentist with the Jabodebek LRT Health Team, as well as various educational activities in the Auditorium of the Jabodebek LRT Office.

Executive Vice President of the Jabodebek LRT Division Suryawan Putra Hia said the National Children's Day commemoration was an opportunity to expand access to learning through direct experience using public transportation.

Suryawan assessed that public transportation education from an early age is important to build the habit of using mass transportation while instilling the values of discipline, compliance with rules, concern for fellow users, and awareness of safety during travel.

"We want to educate our younger siblings, especially those with special needs, our hope is that they have the same rights as other children and they are also the future of this nation. So we give them the opportunity to enjoy the LRT," he said at the Sayang Anak, Protect and Build the Future event, at Jatimulya Station, Wednesday, July 23.

Suryawan ensured that the Jabodebek LRT also continued to improve services for people with disabilities and priority groups. According to him, all officers, not only those who serve at the station, have been directed to provide assistance to passengers who need assistance.

"We have instructed all LRT elements, not only officers at the station, but all employees. If you encounter users with special needs, the elderly, pregnant women, and the sick, they are our priority to serve," said Suryawan.

Suryawan added that support facilities for people with disabilities have also been prepared from the station entrance to the train, including guide lanes for users with special needs.

"Including the track, there are instructions for those with special needs. We have almost everything, from the first entrance to the station, to boarding the train, to getting out of the station again, we have prepared everything," he concluded.
