JAKARTA - The government is racing to complete the verification and validation of financing for the Red and White Village Cooperative (Kopdes) before the first installment to state-owned banks is due in September.
Coordinating Minister for Food Zulkifli Hasan said the installment was related to Agrinas Pangan's loan to the State-Owned Bank Association or Himbara.
New payments can be made after all requirements are verified and validated, then submitted to the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency.
"After validation and verification is submitted to BPKP, it can only be paid by the Minister of Finance. The Minister of Finance will transfer it to Himbara," said Zulkifli Hasan, who is commonly called Zulhas, after a limited meeting at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, Thursday, July 23.
According to Zulhas, the government is working to complete all documents in August. This step is necessary so that payments can be made before the deadline in September.
"We are working hard so that all the requirements are completed this August so that before September the first installment can be paid to Himbara," he said.
Zulhas did not mention the installment value or the amount of financing that must be paid.
The payment problem was discussed in a limited meeting with President Prabowo Subianto which lasted about three and a half hours.
Apart from payment, the meeting discussed the operational readiness of the Village Cooperative, Kelurahan Cooperative, and Red and White Fishermen Cooperative.
The President asked all ministries and agencies to support the program. The TNI and Polri were also asked to help so that cooperatives could immediately operate.
The government targets around 25,000 cooperatives to start operating in August to September. The number is estimated to reach 35,862 units by the end of the year.
Minister of Cooperatives Ferry Juliantono said operational preparations were one of the main concerns in the meeting.
The government also targets the presidential regulation governing the management of the Red and White Kopdes to be completed this week.
