JAKARTA - Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa ensures that the government has prepared an additional budget of Rp. 20 trillion for BPJS Health.

Purbaya explained that initially the government allocated an additional budget of Rp. 10 trillion and as the policy adjustments continued, the Ministry of Finance again increased the allocation of funds by Rp. 10 trillion so that the total budget support for BPJS Kesehatan reached Rp. 20 trillion.

"Our BPJS Kesehatan will add Rp. 10 trillion and the rules will be changed, so that the Rp. 10 trillion that is already in the ministry can be used, so that a total of Rp. 20 trillion will be added," said Purbaya, quoted Wednesday. 22 July

He emphasized that the budget was actually available, however, the funds could only be disbursed after the Presidential Regulation (Perpres) which became the legal basis was officially published.

"The budget is there, it's still waiting for the presidential decree. Once the presidential decree comes out, it can be used immediately. It should not be long, because it has been approved quite maturely," he concluded.

Previously, BPJS Kesehatan had the potential to experience liquidity pressure and was at risk of failing to meet its payment obligations starting July 2027 if it did not receive additional funding support.
