JAKARTA - PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI has brought three export-oriented small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to participate in the Korea Import Expo 2026 in Seoul, South Korea. This participation is part of the company's efforts to expand global market access for Indonesian business actors through the BNI Xpora program.

The exhibition, which was held by the Korea Importers Association or KOIMA, took place at COEX Hall B, Seoul, on June 23-25, 2026. The event was attended by around 200 companies from more than 30 countries with a target of more than 10,000 buyers and traders.

The three SMEs brought by BNI are PT Alko Sumatra Kopi, PT AK Goldenesia, and PT Awan Crackers Food Indonesia. All three showcase flagship products in the Indonesian Pavilion while also attending business meetings with a number of South Korean companies.

Director of Commercial Banking at BNI, Muhammad Iqbal, said that participation reflects the company's commitment to accompanying national business actors entering the international market. BNI support is not only provided through market access, but also includes financing, transaction services, business assistance, and international networks.

"BNI Xpora is present as a strategic partner for Indonesian business actors who want to expand into the international market. We not only help connect exporters with global buyers, but also provide financing support, international transaction solutions, business advisory, and access to the networks needed to increase their competitiveness and business sustainability," said Iqbal in a written statement.

During the exhibition, participants attended a business matching session with a number of South Korean companies, including Sajo Foodist, Neple Co., Nokchawon, Hermos Co., Ltd., GS Global, and Hurum Co., Ltd.

The business meeting was aimed at opening new export transaction opportunities, exploring distribution cooperation, and expanding the penetration of Indonesian products in the South Korean market.

The participation of Indonesian SMEs in the Korea Import Expo 2026 was carried out through synergy between the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Seoul, the Ministry of Trade through the Seoul Trade Attaché, BNI Seoul Foreign Branch Office, and BNI Xpora.

According to Iqbal, market access is still one of the main challenges for Indonesian business actors who want to expand abroad. These obstacles are not only related to the search for buyers, but also the readiness of products, distribution networks, financing, and understanding of international trade transactions.

Therefore, BNI Xpora continues to expand collaboration with the government, Indonesian representatives abroad, business associations, and international partners to bring national exporters together with prospective buyers in various countries.

This support is also strengthened through BNI's international network, including BNI Seoul Foreign Branch Office. Through this network, exporters can gain access to international trade transaction services and transaction management digitally through BNIdirect.

"BNI Xpora is designed to help Indonesian business actors rise to a higher level through three main pillars, namely Go Productive, Go Digital, and Go Global. This support is realized through financing, mentoring, business matching, and access to international markets," said Iqbal.

He added that BNI's participation in international exhibitions was also an implementation of the spirit of Swadharma Bhakti Nagara which had colored the company's eight decades of journey. This spirit is realized by strengthening BNI's role as a growth partner for the business world and a supporter of national product expansion.

Through participation in the Korea Import Expo 2026, BNI hopes that more Indonesian business actors will have the opportunity to build networks, increase export transactions, and expand product distribution in the global market. This step is also expected to strengthen the competitiveness of SMEs and contribute to export growth and the national economy. (ADV)
