JAKARTA - PT Pertamina Patra Niaga has again strengthened national energy resilience through the arrival of the Pertamina Gas 1 (PG1) Fleet which carries around 45,900 metric tons of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) from Freeport, Texas, USA.
VP Corporate Communication PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, Kitty Andhora, said that the supply was part of the company's strategy in maintaining the reliability of national LPG supply to meet the needs of the community and productive sectors, as well as strengthening energy resilience in the midst of global energy market dynamics.
The cargo transported by Pertamina Gas 1 consists of approximately 23,000 metric tons of propane and 22,800 metric tons of butane.
The procurement of supplies from various global sources is part of Pertamina Patra Niaga's efforts to ensure national LPG availability through integrated supply chain management, ranging from procurement, transportation, storage, to distribution.
"The arrival of Pertamina Gas 1 is a tangible manifestation of our commitment to ensuring that LPG supplies remain available safely, reliably, and sustainably," said Kitty, Monday, July 13.
The LPG cargo carried by Pertamina Gas 1 is equivalent to around 15.2 million 3-kilogram LPG cylinders.
Arriving in Indonesia, about 26,000 metric tons were unloaded at the Sekong LPG Terminal, Banten and about 19,900 metric tons will be unloaded at the Arun LPG Terminal, Aceh.
The supply will then strengthen the national stock before being distributed through the Pertamina Patra Niaga infrastructure network as needed to maintain the reliability of LPG supply for the community.
Pertamina Gas 1 departed from Freeport (US FPO), Texas, United States, on May 29, 2026 and undertook an ocean crossing voyage to Indonesia by prioritizing safety, security, and operational reliability.
"This delivery reflects Pertamina Patra Niaga's ability to manage the global energy supply chain professionally so that LPG supplies can arrive on schedule to support the fulfillment of national energy needs," said Kitty.
