JAKARTA - The staggered blackout that occurred on Java Island prompted PLN to make improvements to the primary energy supply chain and the power plant system.
President Director of PT PLN (Persero) Darmawan Prasodjo said the company is now focusing on strengthening the governance of primary energy supply as well as improving the reliability of PLN-owned power plants and private power plants.
According to Darmawan, the supply of primary energy that meets the specifications of the plant's needs has started to flow again since last week. This condition helps strengthen the resilience of the electricity system on the island of Java.
PLN also conducts full monitoring for 24 hours every day to map potential disruptions and ensure that electricity supply is maintained.
"We are making all-out efforts 24 hours a day, seven days a week," Darmawan told reporters at the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta before meeting President Prabowo Subianto, Monday, June 22.
This step was taken after a series of power outages that triggered complaints from the public in a number of areas.
Darmawan again apologized to customers for the inconvenience. He emphasized that PLN, together with the government, energy suppliers, and power plants, continues to work to maintain the reliability of the system so that future electricity supply is more stable.
The improvement of the energy supply chain is in the spotlight because the supply of fuel and primary energy is the main foundation of power plant operations. When supplies are disrupted, the impact can be felt directly by customers through reduced system power reserves.
