BANDUNG - A number of heads of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) of regencies/cities in West Java urged the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, especially the General Chairman Anindya Bakrie, to be responsible for resolving the conflict of the dualism of the leadership of the West Java Chamber of Commerce and Industry which until now has not found a bright spot.

They assessed that the prolonged conflict not only disrupted the organization's wheels, but also had an impact on the investment climate and efforts to encourage economic growth in West Java.

The demand emerged in a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) held by the Indonesian Economic Journalists Forum (FJE Indonesia) at the Horison Bandung Hotel, Tuesday (09/06/2026).

The activity, which was guided by Krista Riyanto as the Coordinator of FJEI, brought together 16 Chairmen of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of districts/cities throughout West Java to convey their views and expectations regarding the ongoing conflict.

One of the participants, namely the Chairman of the Garut Regency Kadin, Rajab Priyadi, said that all Kadin managers in the region hope that the problem will be resolved immediately through a fair and acceptable step for all parties.

"We from 16 regional and city Kadin in West Java ask that this conflict be resolved immediately in any way that is best for the interests of organizations and the business world," he said.

According to Rajab, direct mediation from the General Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry is the most appropriate step to end the protracted dispute. Even if necessary, he proposed that the West Java Chamber of Commerce Provincial Conference (Musprov) be held again to produce leadership that is accepted by all parties.

He revealed that the most visible impact of the conflict was the decline in public confidence in the largest business organization in Indonesia.

"Kadin is a platform for entrepreneurs whose task is to help the government to encourage economic growth, create jobs, and strengthen the business world. When there is a prolonged conflict, many programs are hampered," he said.

Rajab also hopes that the Governor of West Java, Dedi Mulyadi, can help find a solution if the efforts to resolve from the Central Chamber of Commerce have not produced results.

"Kang Dedi Mulyadi is known to be able to solve various problems. We hope that he can also help create a way out for the West Java Chamber of Commerce conflict," he said.

In line with this, the Chairman of the Karawang Chamber of Commerce, Ari Susanto, admitted that he was concerned about the conditions that occurred in the province which is one of the centers of national economic growth.

"West Java is the second largest economic power after Jakarta. We are very concerned because the presence of two leaders makes the movement of organizations and economic programs not optimal," he said.

The same tone was conveyed by the managers of the Bogor, Sukabumi, and Indramayu City and Regency Chambers of Commerce. They hope that the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce will also declare the status quo for the West Java Chamber of Commerce as long as there is no settlement accepted by all parties.

"Because now there is a lawsuit in the South Jakarta Court and the Bandung PN, we ask the West Java Chamber of Commerce to be in a status quo until there is a final and binding decision," they said.

As is known, the conflict in the West Java Kadin involves two leadership camps, namely Nizar Sungkar and Almer Faiq Rusydi. The dispute began after each party claimed a different organizational process at the end of 2025.

Almer Faiq Rusydi was elected through the Musprov in Bogor and had been inaugurated by the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce for the 2025-2030 term of office. However, the management was later sued by the Nizar Sungkar camp, which was elected through the Musprov in Bandung.

The question now continues to the legal track. Nizar Sungkar filed a civil lawsuit worth 20 times or Rp. 20 billion to the Bandung District Court regarding the ratification of the management of the West Java Chamber of Commerce. Meanwhile, the regional chamber of commerce managers represented by the Garut and Indramayu Chambers of Commerce filed a lawsuit at the South Jakarta District Court.
