JAKARTA - Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (Soetta) has accelerated the arrival flow of pilgrims during the 1447 H/2026 M Hajj season. Through the optimization of services, the time it takes pilgrims from getting off the plane to boarding the bus to the Hajj dormitory has now been reduced to around 30 to 40 minutes.
The acceleration of the service is applied during the phase of the return of the hajj pilgrims which takes place from June 1 to 30, 2026 through Terminal 2F Soekarno-Hatta Airport.
General Manager of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport Heru Karyadi said that the optimization of this arrival flow had cut the waiting time, which had previously ranged from 60 minutes to more, to only 40 minutes.
"We are trying to provide a faster and more comfortable arrival process. If last year the congregation took about an hour to more, this year we have accelerated it to about 30 to 40 minutes," he said in an official statement, Wednesday, June 3.
Heru explained that the improvement of the service flow was carried out to provide more comfort for pilgrims, especially the elderly and disabled who had just traveled a long way from Saudi Arabia.
"The goal is to reduce the fatigue of pilgrims after a long journey from the Holy Land, especially for elderly and disabled pilgrims," he said.
In addition to speeding up the arrival process, Soekarno-Hatta Airport also ensures that elderly and disabled friendly services are a priority during this year's Hajj debarkation phase.
Terminal 2F which is the center of Hajj and Umrah services has been equipped with various supporting facilities, such as disability-friendly access, wheelchairs, comfortable holding areas, and officers who are ready to provide assistance from the time the pilgrims arrive until they continue their journey to the debarkation dormitory.
Heru said that services to pilgrims were not only oriented towards operational smoothness, but also ensured that each pilgrim had a comfortable travel experience when returning home.
"Some of the pilgrims who returned to their homeland are elderly people who have traveled a long way from Saudi Arabia. Therefore, we ensure that all priority facilities, service officers, and operational support are ready to provide the best service so that the arrival process goes smoothly and smoothly," he said.
The smooth arrival process of pilgrims is also supported by close coordination between Soekarno-Hatta Airport and the Hajj Organizing Committee (PPIH), airlines, Immigration, Customs and Excise, Quarantine, AirNav Indonesia, and other related agencies.
Furthermore, Heru said that collaboration between all parties is the key to providing fast, accurate, and integrated services for pilgrims.
"We want to ensure that pilgrims can return home with a good travel experience. The spirit of serving wholeheartedly is our commitment in every service process, including in the Hajj return phase this year," he said.
For information, during the 2026 Hajj return phase, Soekarno-Hatta Airport will serve the arrival of 34,853 pilgrims who are members of 84 flight groups (clusters). All arrival processes are centralized through Terminal 2F before pilgrims are sent to their respective debarkation dormitories.
