JAKARTA - The government has prepared a budget of around Rp1.2 trillion for economic rehabilitation programs for micro-business actors affected by disasters in Aceh, West Sumatra, and North Sumatra until 2027.
Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (UMKM) Maman Abdurrahman said the program targeted around 200 thousand micro business actors in the three regions.
"Each of them will receive presidential assistance (Banpres) of Rp. 3 million per micro business unit," said Maman in a press conference in Jakarta, Wednesday, June 3, reported by ANTARA.
For the initial phase, the government allocated a budget of around Rp600 billion in 2026. This program will continue in the second phase in 2027 with the same budget amount.
Maman said that the assistance was prioritized for micro-entrepreneurs who did not have access to banking financing.
"So if those who have access to banking financing have been handled through the banking mechanism, well those who have not yet gained access (banking), can get assistance of Rp. 3 million per micro business through presidential assistance," he said.
He added that this program is part of the Master Plan for Disaster Economic Rehabilitation in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra, which covers various sectors, ranging from infrastructure, health, to social.
According to him, the assistance is expected to help micro-entrepreneurs to resume their business, including to buy production equipment and operational needs.
"So that they can have a breath, they can buy production tools ... reactivate their small businesses in the area," said Maman.
Maman said that currently the government is in the process of administration and will coordinate with the local government to collect data on beneficiaries.
"We will immediately realize it. It must be immediately implemented," he said.
