JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works (PU) is speeding up the completion of People's Schools (SR) in various regions. PU Minister Dody Hanggodo targets that by the end of June, as many as 53 SR can be completed.

Dody said that the SR development program received the largest budget allocation, namely Rp. 19.95 trillion, with a target of 100 units to be completed this year.
He said that currently 93 units are in the process of being worked on and seven units are in the tender process. In total, the physical progress of construction has reached 67.50 percent, with a financial realization of 44.33 percent. Of the total work, about 53 units can be completed this month.
"For the People's School with a ceiling of Rp. 19.95 trillion, the physical realization (is) 67.50 percent and the finance 44.33 percent of the total target of 93 units that we must complete in June 2026," said Dody.
Apart from the construction of SR, Dody also explained the progress of a number of other priority programs. For example, for the handling of regional irrigation with a budget ceiling of around Rp. 350 billion, the physical progress has reached 82.73 percent with a financial realization of 38.36 percent. The program is targeted to cover an area of 19,760 hectares.

In order to complete the priority projects, the Ministry of PU requested an additional budget of IDR 34.33 trillion in the 2026 fiscal year (TA). The request for additional budget was submitted to the Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa through a letter from the Minister of PU Number PR0201/B/Mn/2026/90 dated May 22, 2026.
