Sido Muncul Holds Free Cleft Lip Operation in Jonggol

JAKARTA - PT Industri Jamu Dan Farmasi Sido Muncul Tbk (SIDO) through the Kuku Bima product line collaborates with the Hand of Caring People Foundation or TOP Surabaya and Permata Jonggol Hospital to organize a free cleft lip surgery program for 20 child patients.

This humanitarian social service agenda is held as a form of real contribution to improving public health and welcoming the 75th anniversary of Sido Muncul which falls in November 2026.

The accumulated support for humanitarian funds with a total value of Rp. 355,250,000 was collected with details sourced from the internal cash of the TOP Surabaya Foundation of Rp. 200,000,000 and contributions from Sido Muncul worth Rp. 155,250,000. The symbolic handover ceremony was held on Friday, May 22, at Permata Jonggol Hospital, Bogor Regency.

The handover of the donation plaque was led directly by Sido Muncul President Director Dr. (H.C.) Irwan Hidayat accompanied by a representative of the TOP Maya Sari Foundation to the Director of Permata Jonggol Hospital dr. Sri Handayani, MARS.

This crucial momentum was also witnessed by the Jonggol Sub-district Head Andri Rahman, S.STP., M.Si., a number of specialist doctors, medical staff, and representatives of beneficiary families, while the Chairman of the Surabaya TOP Foundation Natalia Soetrisno monitored the virtual event.

The first synergy between the two institutions can run successfully thanks to the pioneering spirit of Rheno Adrian Hidayat, one of the members of the TOP Foundation who actively acts to bridge the communication with the Sido Muncul management.

President Director of Sido Muncul, Dr. (H.C.) Irwan Hidayat emphasized that this baksos is a form of empathy commitment of the company in expanding the reach of medical maintenance facilities, especially for children from vulnerable poor groups.

Looking back at his youth at the age of 21 who had experienced the dynamics of an unhealthy body, Irwan understood very well that every mother must feel deep sadness when faced with the reality that her baby was born with physical limitations.

Irwan appealed to parents to actively seek access to medical information and emphasized the importance of the contribution of private corporations in filling the limitations of the government's health insurance coverage.

"I think all parents want their children to be operated on, but they are confused about how. If anyone has a cleft lip, please register at the hospital or through BPJS. The government certainly cannot work alone. There needs to be participation from the community and entrepreneurs to help people in need," said Irwan.

Irwan expressed high admiration for the collective dedication of young people in the TOP Foundation who are willing to set aside their focus and energy in the midst of the racket sports routine to help those in need.

He also pinned the highest award to the expert doctor formation, namely Dr. Selvi, Dr. Hilmi, Dr. Hengky, and Dr. Sudianto who voluntarily donated their plastic surgery expertise without demanding material payment.

"Rarely do people play sports, hold tournaments, but still remember the people who need it. This is amazing. These doctors are amazing because they operate without being paid. There are doctors Selvi, doctors Hilmi, doctors Hengky, and doctors Sudianto. They are the ones who are most indebted. If you are healed, you will definitely be more confident. Their future will hopefully be better," said Irwan.

Sido Muncul himself is committed to breaking the negative domino effect of physical abnormalities so that all Indonesian children can grow strong and healthy to optimize the momentum of the national demographic bonus.

Through the consistency of integrated care movements since 2018 in Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara, the accumulated number of poor people who have successfully recovered their health for free through the Sido Muncul program has now reached a total of 774 patients in various corners of the country.
