JAKARTA - Minister of Public Works (PU) Dody Hanggodo highlighted the supply of steel materials in the construction of the Tahap II People's School (SR) in Lhokseumawe City, Aceh Province.

The project was carried out by the Aceh Strategic Infrastructure Implementation Unit with the implementing contractors KSO PT Pembangunan Perumahan (Persero) Tbk and PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk.
The value of the project is sourced from the State Budget (APBN) for the 2025-2026 Fiscal Year (TA) of IDR 262.3 billion.
The contractor ensures that all the main materials are in the process of being delivered and most of them are already on trucks heading to the construction site.
In addition, the use of a combination of concrete and steel structures is said to be one of the methods used to accelerate the completion of the work.
Efforts to accelerate development are also carried out through the implementation of a two-shift work system. Currently, the number of workers is around 705 people and is targeted to increase to 1,000 people to pursue the target for project completion.
SR Lhokseumawe is designed as an integrated educational facility that includes elementary, middle and high school levels.
The area is also equipped with dormitories, basketball courts, mini-soccer, and various other supporting facilities.
Dody assessed that the SR program is one of the government's strategic steps to improve the quality of human resources and reduce extreme poverty.
"The state must be present to honor children from poor families. Through this People's School, we want to ensure access to decent education so that extreme poverty can be immediately suppressed," he concluded.
