JAKARTA - The container flow at the IPC Terminal Petikemas (IPC TPK) Jambi Area recorded significant growth in March 2026, in line with the increasing activity of distributing goods ahead of Eid al-Fitr.
The throughput volume was recorded to have increased by 22.5 percent compared to the same period last year.
Based on operational data, the container flow of the IPC TPK Jambi Area reached 2,775 TEUs in March 2026, an increase from 2,265 TEUs in March 2025.
This surge reflects the increased logistics mobility in the Jambi region, both for domestic consumption needs and commodity distribution.
This performance strengthening is also in line with the solid foreign trade conditions of Jambi Province. In January 2026, Jambi's export value was recorded at US$ 152.92 million, far exceeding imports of US$ 11.16 million, thus recording a significant trade balance surplus.
Jambi's export structure, which is dominated by the industrial sector and flagship commodities such as palm oil derivatives, rubber, and forestry products, also encourages high logistics activity in the region.
IPC TPK Jambi Area Operations Manager, Wedhar Tani Aji, said that this achievement was the result of the company's consistency in maintaining service reliability.
"This growth reflects our efforts to ensure reliable operations, accelerate loading and unloading services, and strengthen collaboration with all stakeholders," he said.
Operationally, the increase in container traffic in March was driven by a surge in domestic container volume.
The distribution of cement commodities has increased in line with the massive development of infrastructure in the Jambi region. In addition, the delivery of basic necessities such as rice, flour, and food and beverages has also increased, in line with the increase in public demand ahead of Eid.
On the other hand, the import trend dominated by industrial machinery and equipment shows that there is still production and construction activity.
This also contributes to the increasing need for efficient and reliable logistics services.
To maintain this momentum, the IPC TPK Jambi Area continues to strengthen operational readiness through the improvement of human resource competence as well as the maintenance and optimization of loading and unloading equipment.
This step is carried out to ensure that all terminal activities run smoothly, safely, and according to service standards.
"We view the Jambi container terminal not only as a loading and unloading point, but as an enabler of economic growth. With the readiness of the services we continue to improve, we are optimistic that we can support the smooth flow of logistics while strengthening the competitiveness of regional and national economies," concluded Wedhar.
