JAKARTA - Minister of Public Works Dody Hanggodo confirmed that he did not know the matter behind the search conducted by investigators from the DKI Jakarta High Prosecutor's Office at his ministry, even swearing to confirm his ignorance regarding the case.
Dody swore that he did not know about the matter, when responding to a reporter's question confirming whether he had discussed internally with the previous minister regarding the raids that were said to be related to the 2023 and 2024 APBN cases.
"No, there is no (discussion with the previous minister). Is it (the matter of the search for the state budget) 2023-2024? I don't know either. No, I really don't know, I swear to God, to the Prophet, I don't know," he said as reported by ANTARA, Friday, April 10.
According to Dody, there was no need for internal discussions because the case was already in the realm of law enforcement, so his ministry no longer had the authority to interfere in the ongoing investigation process.
"But, yes, I think there is no need for discussion, what is the discussion again? Because this item has crossed to other places, so it's not our territory," said Dody.
He also emphasized that the active steps of his institution were feared to be considered as obstruction of justice, so he chose to leave it entirely to law enforcement officials so that the process would be transparent and accountable.
"What if I do it later? Making a movement later will be considered this, obstruction of justice. But, come on, everything has happened," he added.
Dody said that his work room and the work room of Deputy Minister PU Diana Kusumastuti were part of the search conducted by the investigators of the DKI Jakarta High Prosecutor's Office.
"Oh yes (the room of the Minister and Wamen PU was searched by the DKI Jakarta Attorney General's Office). So, this way, I give permission to investigators to search all the rooms in the PU Ministry," he said.
Dody said investigators were cautious when they were about to enter the minister's room because of his position as a presidential aide so he felt the need to ask for special permission from President Prabowo Subianto first.
He then reported directly to President Prabowo regarding the plan to grant full access to investigators to enter all rooms, including the minister's office.
In addition to the workspaces of ministers and deputy ministers, searches were also carried out at the Directorate General of Construction and Water Resources (SDA), including the ministry's main building.
From the search, the DKI Jakarta Attorney General's investigators seized 16 items. The type of goods seized was mostly documents, including one unit of computer and printouts. The most seized documents were from the Directorate General of Construction.
