JAKARTA - The Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker) has prepared rewards and program priorities for companies that facilitate the certification of the competence of National Internship participants (MagangHub).
Minister of Manpower Yassierli said that this policy is part of the government's efforts to ensure that the internship program does not stop as a mere work experience, but actually becomes a way for participants to obtain the competence recognition needed when entering the workforce.
"We want to ensure that the internship program not only provides work experience, but also produces competent workers and has official recognition through competency certification issued by the National Professional Certification Agency (BNSP)," said Yassierli, quoted Tuesday, April 7.
He assessed that the business world has a strategic role in preparing ready-to-use labor. Therefore, the active involvement of companies in facilitating the certification of internship participants is an added value that will continue to be strengthened by the government through reward and priority programs.
In line with this, the Director General of Vocational Training and Productivity of the Ministry of Manpower, Darmawansyah, stated that this step is also aimed at ensuring that internship participants obtain competence standards that are truly in line with industry needs. In this way, the results of the internship are not only felt during the program, but also provide longer-term benefits for participants when looking for a job or entering the recruitment process.
"We really appreciate companies that facilitate certification for internship participants. This is important so that participants have evidence of standardized and industry-recognized competence," said Darmawansyah.
He explained that companies that support competency certification will be prioritized in future internship programs, as well as gaining wider access to various strategic employment services and programs. This step is expected to create a mutually reinforcing relationship between the government, the business world, and internship participants, so that internships really produce measurable benefits.
Currently, the national internship program is followed by around 100 thousand participants spread across various companies, ministries, and institutions. Implementation is carried out gradually. For Batch I, as many as 14,952 participants are scheduled to complete the internship period on April 19, 2026.
As a form of recognition for participant participation, the Ministry of Manpower also ensures that each participant receives documents according to the duration of their participation. Participants who complete the program for 6 months will receive an internship certificate, while participants who have participated for more than 3 months but less than 6 months will receive a certificate. For participants, these documents are important as initial supplies to show experience and job readiness more convincingly.
"This is an important preparation for the internship participants to be really ready to enter the world of work," he said.
In the future, the Ministry of Manpower will continue to expand access to competency certification through strengthening cooperation with Professional Certification Institutions (LSP) and industry partners in various sectors. Through this step, the Ministry of Manpower targets internships not only to open learning opportunities at the workplace, but also to produce competent, adaptive, and highly competitive labor.
