JAKARTA - PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (Persero) Tbk (PGN) as a Subholding of Pertamina Gas, together with PT Gagas Energi Indonesia (PGN Gagas) and the Gas Car Community (Komogas), successfully carried out a Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Mobile Workshop program entitled the 1447 H Idulfitri Standby Workshop. This activity took place at the Cirebon Gas Fuel Filling Station (SPBG), West Java, during the 2026 Lebaran homecoming period.
The program presents the Standby Team which operates 24 hours. In total, 55 vehicles have been served, consisting of 40 bajaj units and 15 units of gas-powered cars (BBG).
This initiative is a strategic step in strengthening the reliability of alternative energy infrastructure on the homecoming route, as well as providing a sense of safety and comfort for BBG vehicle users. This program also shows that CNG-based vehicles can be a cleaner, more efficient, and environmentally friendly energy solution, especially in the midst of high community mobility during the homecoming flow.
"Strengthening the use of CNG on the homecoming route is in line with the energy needs that are increasingly moving towards cleaner and more efficient solutions. In a global situation full of uncertainty like today, clean energy is no longer just a choice, but a necessity. Therefore, the optimization of natural gas, including CNG, is a strategic step to strengthen national energy resilience while reducing costs for the community," said PGN Corporate Secretary, Fajriyah Usman, in a statement, Wednesday, April 1.
Through the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, PGN continues to present various initiatives that not only focus on business aspects, but also provide direct benefits to the community.
"With the support of increasingly reliable infrastructure and services, we hope that the adoption of CNG can continue to increase, especially during high mobility periods such as the Lebaran period," he added.
Fast and PracticalIn line with efforts to encourage energy efficiency and improve services for BBG users, PGN President Director Gagas, Santiaji Gunawan, emphasized that this program is a concrete step to ensure the safety and comfort of the community during the homecoming flow.
He explained that the activities were focused on increasing the reliability of BBG vehicles through direct technical services at SPBG, so that users can check and maintain them quickly and easily.
"The implementation of this program shows a real impact in the field. We want to ensure that all BBG vehicle users can travel home safely without worrying about the condition of the vehicle. The standby workshop service at SPBG is present so that the inspection and maintenance process can be carried out quickly and practically," said Santiaji.
Furthermore, Santiaji said that the majority of vehicles that came used the service for general inspection on the BBG system, including installation repairs, to ensure that vehicles remain in a safe and optimal condition during travel.
"We ensure that every vehicle that comes gets a thorough inspection, especially in terms of safety of installation and performance of the BBG system, so that users can continue their journey more calmly and comfortably," he continued.
Komogas Chairman, Andy Lala, also appreciated the presence of this standby workshop service as a tangible support that the users of BBG vehicles, especially during the homecoming momentum, feel the benefits of.
"For us in the community, the presence of this standby workshop is very helpful, especially for users who travel long distances. This support gives a sense of calm because there is certainty of service if needed, as well as encouraging more people to switch to more efficient and environmentally friendly energy," concluded Andy.
