JAKARTA - PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China or KCIC recorded an increase in the number of passengers on the Whoosh service during the 2026 Lebaran Transportation period. From March 13 to 30, 2026, the total passengers reached 311,472 people or an increase of 7.06 percent compared to the previous year.
KCIC Corporate Secretary General Eva Chairunisa said this increase reflects the public's high confidence in the high-speed train mode of transportation amid the crowded Lebaran mobility.
"The increase in passenger numbers on Lebaran Transportation this year shows that Whoosh is increasingly trusted as the main transportation choice. In the midst of high community mobility, all operations can run safely, smoothly, and under control," Eva said in an official statement, Tuesday, March 31.
Eva explained that operationally, the Whoosh passenger volume was stable with an average of 17,304 passengers per day. The highest peak occurred on March 24, 2026 with a number of 24,315 passengers in one day.
To accommodate the surge, KCIC operates 1,088 Whoosh trips with an on-time performance (OTP) rate of 99.4 percent.
In terms of departure stations, Halim Station recorded the highest volume with 143,652 passengers, followed by Padalarang Station with 110,398 passengers, Tegalluar Station with 46,735 passengers, and Karawang Station with 10,687 passengers.
Eva said the increase in passenger numbers was also driven by the improvement in service quality, increasingly complete facilities, and promo programs such as Whoosh Value+ which attracted public interest.
KCIC emphasized that it would continue to maintain service quality to ensure a safe, comfortable, and timely travel experience for all Whoosh users in the future.
"We thank all passengers for their trust, as well as the TNI, Polri, and all stakeholders who have supported the smooth running of services during this Lebaran Transportation period," said Eva.
