JAKARTA - PT Pertamina (Persero) reported that Pertamax Series consumption increased significantly during the 2026 Lebaran homecoming and return period.
Vice President of Corporate Communication PT Pertamina (Persero), Muhammad Baron, revealed that Pertamax (RON 92) consumption was recorded to have increased by 11.8 percent compared to the daily average of the normal period.
"The increase in consumption of various types of Pertamax fuel variants compared to the daily normal average in January 2026 shows that more people are choosing quality fuel. This is believed to support a more comfortable and optimal long-distance journey," said Baron, Wednesday, March 25.
Meanwhile, Pertamax Green (RON 95) environmentally friendly products recorded the highest increase, namely 94.7 percent compared to the normal period. This surge shows an increase in public interest in more environmentally friendly fuels.
Pertamax Turbo, which is intended for high-performance vehicles, also experienced an increase in consumption of 34.5 percent compared to the daily normal average.
Baron added that the period of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr, especially during the holiday, is synonymous with an increase in community mobilization, both for returning home or vacation.
Anticipating this, he admitted that Pertamina is trying to ensure that the energy needs of the community during the 2026 Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr period can be met well.
Pertamina has increased its supply stock since a long time ago, as well as preparing various additional services in the attention line, namely the homecoming line and tourist locations such as 24-hour Standby SPBU, fuel and LPG delivery motorists, and energy service points in strategic routes.
"We are trying to keep the people's journey during this Eid comfortable, until the return flow ends," said Baron.
However, Baron reminded the public to maintain their energy consumption according to their needs.
"In line with the Middle East conflict which affects the world's energy conditions, Pertamina appeals to the public to jointly maintain the supply of fuel and LPG that has been provided by Pertamina. Active participation of the public in maintaining energy, such as by buying according to needs and implementing energy efficiency, will help energy availability in Indonesia," said Baron.
