JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto has placed Danantara as one of the mainstays to strengthen national economic resilience when the world is hit by uncertainty. In front of the Danantara ranks in the 1st Danantara Indonesia Anniversary celebration at Wisma Danantara, Wednesday, March 11, 2026, Prabowo assessed that the global crisis should be read as a test as well as an opportunity.

"These brothers are increasingly urgent, because we see the world today is full of uncertainty, happening everywhere, a crisis. But brothers, crises always produce opportunities, crises are tests, crises are stepping stones. The strong will survive, the weak will continue to suffer. This is a lesson from history," said Prabowo.

Prabowo admitted that he was optimistic that Indonesia was able to overcome global pressure because it was supported by the wealth of natural resources. According to him, this capital makes Indonesia have a strong foothold to maintain the stability and resilience of the national economy.

"I believe and trust that the Indonesian nation is given extraordinary natural wealth, and we are able to get out of this crisis. We will get out of this crisis stronger. This crisis, in my opinion, is a blessing in disguise," he said.

He then touched on the steps that the government is taking to strengthen national resilience, especially through the food and energy self-sufficiency program. In this scheme, Danantara is said to play an important role.

"We already have a plan for food self-sufficiency, thank God it has been partially achieved. We already have the intention of energy self-sufficiency, which we plan to achieve in four years," he said.

For Prabowo, Danantara is not only an economic instrument, but also a measure of whether Indonesia is able to manage the wealth of its country professionally and on par with other countries' sovereign wealth funds.

Therefore, he asked all levels of Danantara to maintain governance and integrity. According to him, the institution carries great expectations because what is managed is not just assets, but the wealth of future generations.
