JAKARTA - PT Kereta Commuter Indonesia (KCI) together with Bank Syariah Nasional (BSN) launched the Special Edition Co-Branding BSN Multi Trip Card (KMT).

In his remarks, Director of KAI Commuter Indonesia Mochamad Purnomosidi said that this cooperation is a tangible form of BSN's support to increase cashless transactions, especially in the transportation sector in Jabodetabek.

"Of course we hope that this collaboration is a good strategic initiative, which can be accepted by all users, both BSI customers and KMT users," said Purnomosidi in his remarks at the launch of KMT at Juanda Station, Wednesday, March 11.

He added that the cooperation between KCI and BSN not only includes co-branding cards, but also opens up other collaboration opportunities, such as top-up KMT balance services through the BSN application (Bale Syariah) and other banking cooperation.

Purnomo also explained, KCI is an issuer of electronic money using chip-based which has received permission from Bank Indonesia since 2019.

Meanwhile, KMT KCI has sold approximately 18.9 million cards and still dominates the use of transactions on the KCI ticketing system and on the ticketing system of other modes of transportation.

"I am confident that this KMT co-branding will provide benefits for users of the Commuter Line Train. In line with technological developments, top-up KMT balances can no longer be done only at stations, but can also be done through mobile applications. With the KMT top-up service on the BSI Syariah application, it will certainly provide a comfortable ecosystem for BSI customers who will carry out activities every day using the Commuter Line Train," he said.

Meanwhile, he said, the number of Commuter passengers is currently recorded at 1.1 million and has the potential to continue to increase. In fact, Purnomo said that currently the number of community mobility in Jabodetabek is recorded at 7.3 million passengers

"So actually our market share is still quite large, because of the 1.1 million it is only 15 percent of the number of community mobility in the Jabodetabek area," said Purnomo.

Present on the same occasion, the President Director of PT Bank Syariah Nasional (BSN), Alex Sofjan Noor, said that cooperation through co-branding also opens up opportunities for future cooperation.

"However, it is not limited to co-branding from this card, maybe in the future we will do a collaboration program that is quite extraordinary," he said.
