JAKARTA - Energy and Mineral Resources Minister (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia has ensured that the government will not raise the prices of subsidized fuels such as Pertalite and Solar in the midst of rising world oil prices that have reached 100 US dollars per barrel.

"Once again I make sure that the public does not feel how it is related to prices. Because until this holiday, God willing, there will be no increase in fuel prices for subsidies," Bahlil told the media at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Office, Monday, March 9.

Bahlil said that the continued rise in oil prices was the result of the geopolitical conflict in the Middle East between Iran and the US-Israel.

However, he ensured that the public did not need to ensure a price spike in the near future.

Bahlil also ensured that the government was preparing steps to respond to the spike in oil prices in the future,

Furthermore, he said that the supply of fuel was also not a problem for Indonesia because it had sufficient supply stocks.

"The problem is that we are not in stock now, there is no problem with the stock, everything is there. We are now just in price (world oil)," he explained.

For information, Indonesia sets the assumption of Indonesian crude oil or Indonesia Crude Price (ICP) at 70 US dollars per barrel in the state budget.

Bahlil also appealed to the public to remain calm and not be swayed by the issue of limited supply.

He ensured that fuel supplies were sufficient leading up to Eid al-Fitr.

"The supply is no problem. For fasting and Eid al-Fitr, everything is guaranteed. There is no problem," said Bahlil.
