JAKARTA - PT Dairi Prima Mineral (DPM) has again sent students from Dairi Regency, North Sumatra to study engineering in China through the company's scholarship program.

A total of six recipients of the fourth-generation PT DPM Scholarship are currently undergoing briefing before departing for Guangzhou, China on March 9, 2026.

During the session, the company's Human Resources team provided information on departure procedures, life abroad, as well as academic preparation and cross-cultural adaptation.

This scholarship program is supported by the Chinese Government Scholarship scheme and is part of the company's Community Development and Empowerment (PPM) program.

The scholarship recipients will study for a three-year diploma in Manufacturing and Machine Automation at the Guangdong Polytechnic of Industry and Commerce (GDPIC), China.

Chief Legal and External Relations Officer of PT Dairi Prima Mineral Radianto Arifin said the program is part of the company's commitment to improving the quality of human resources in the company's operational areas.

"This program reflects the company's continued commitment to supporting the development of education in Dairi. We hope that access to international education can broaden the students' insight and improve their technical competence," said Radianto.

The six scholarship recipients are all from the Silima Pungga-Pungga District, namely Anggun Meriah Ateku Cibro, Dealova Ro Rejeki Sinaga, Tria Basana Manurung, Grace Deocaeli Maringga, Daniel Fransiskus Simarmata, and Hokkop Marlintong Siagian.

The PT DPM Scholarship Program was launched in 2019 and is aimed at improving the capacity of local human resources. To date, as many as 18 students from Dairi Regency have received benefits from the program.

The selection of scholarship recipients is carried out through a number of stages, ranging from academic screening, interviews, psychological tests, to English and Mandarin language skills tests.
